The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate evidence of the following skills, capabilities and experience:
A strategic outlook with the ability to support and lead the Faculty, fostering teamwork and cross-Faculty collaboration.
Prior leadership experience in a complex university and from within a Dental focused environment, with experience of managing budgets and people.
Role-modelling and championing academic excellence by demonstrating standing and credibility within the academic community.
Sound experience of academic, clinical and administrative leadership and management at a senior level.
A track record of working within complex healthcare environments and understanding their priorities.
A good understanding of what it takes to fulfil the tripartite mission of providing high-quality research, high-quality education and high-quality partnership activity at scale.
A strong track-record in research and of attracting research funding.
Understanding and delivering financial sustainability for the Faculty and King’s.
An ability to inspire and empower others within the Faculty from junior members to those on the leadership team.
Understanding overseas and postgraduate student markets.
Experience of making strategic commercial and financial decisions.
Significant experience of innovation and engagement with external partners.
Demonstrating persuasive and motivational skills and the ability to work through others.
Being a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent ambassadorial skills.
Knowledge of the UK funding arrangements.
