The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate evidence of the following skills, capabilities and experience:

  • A strategic outlook with the ability to support and lead the Faculty, fostering teamwork and cross-Faculty collaboration.

  • Prior leadership experience in a complex university and from within a Dental focused environment, with experience of managing budgets and people.

  • Role-modelling and championing academic excellence by demonstrating standing and credibility within the academic community.

  • Sound experience of academic, clinical and administrative leadership and management at a senior level.

  • A track record of working within complex healthcare environments and understanding their priorities.

  • A good understanding of what it takes to fulfil the tripartite mission of providing high-quality research, high-quality education and high-quality partnership activity at scale.

  • A strong track-record in research and of attracting research funding.

  • Understanding and delivering financial sustainability for the Faculty and King’s.

  • An ability to inspire and empower others within the Faculty from junior members to those on the leadership team.

  • Understanding overseas and postgraduate student markets.
