The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate evidence of the following skills, qualities, and experience:
Essential
A strategic outlook with the ability to support and lead the Faculty, fostering teamwork and cross-Faculty collaboration.
Prior leadership and management experience in a complex university, within an academic field relevant to the Faculty and with experience of managing budgets and people.
A strong track-record in research and of attracting research funding.
Role-modelling and championing academic excellence by demonstrating standing and credibility within the academic community.
A track record of working with complex academic/healthcare systems and an ability to understand their priorities.
A track record in ensuring a diverse, inclusive, and supportive work environment, and the ability to devise and implement appropriate interventions where required.
A good understanding of what it takes to fulfil the tripartite mission of providing high-quality research, high-quality education, and high-quality partnership activity at scale.
An ability to inspire and empower others from junior members to those in the leadership team.
Demonstrates influential, persuasive and motivational skills and the ability to work through others.
Desirable
Understanding and delivery of financial sustainability.
Awareness of the overseas and postgraduate student markets.
